The Can’t-Miss Fort Worth Events Happening before the End of the Year

As the year starts winding down, the Fort Worth events calendar starts rolling out the final few happenings for the year—and although there’s only two months left in 2020, there’s still plenty more to celebrate!

From holiday markets to festive gatherings, here are the can’t-miss Fort Worth events to close out 2019.

Mad Scientist Ball

When: November 16th

Where: Fort Worth Museum of Science & History

What: The Mad Scientist Ball will be happening next weekend in celebration of the Legorreta Building’s 10th anniversary and the Museum School’s 70th anniversary. The theme for the party is “Back to the Future,” and it’ll include comedy from Four Day Weekend, a Lockheed Martin flight simulator, magic from Brian Masters and Anthony Dempsey, and more—not to mention a Delorean Time Machine Replica!

Panther Island Ice

When: November 22nd – January 20th

Where: Coyote Drive-In

What: Who says you need snow to go ice skating? Panther Island Ice, Fort Worth’s premier outdoor ice skating rink, will kick off its 2019 season later this month. In addition to the ice, you can also enjoy food, drinks, a playground, and gas heaters!

Sundance Square Christmas Tree Lighting

When: November 23rd

Where: Sundance Square

What: Kick off Fort Worth’s start of the holiday season at the annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Sundance Square! You can expect live festive music, local vendors, and ample holiday cheer.

10th Annual Funky Finds Holiday Shopping Experience

When: November 23rd – 24th

Where: Will Rogers Memorial Center

What: Over 200 vendors, photos with Santa, live music, pet adoptions, gift wrap services—the Funky Finds Holiday Shopping Experience bundles everything you could ask for into one convenient event. Support local crafters, donate to a good cause, and see if you can cross a few things off of your gift list!

GM Financial Parade of Lights

When: November 24th

Where: Downtown Fort Worth

What: Marking its 37th year of operation, the GM Financial Parade of Lights will be filling the streets of Fort Worth with dazzling displays at the end of the month. You can expect more than 100 floats, half-a-million lights, and live performances from local groups at the city’s signature holiday event.

Holidays in the Stockyards

Where: Fort Worth Stockyards

What: Every Friday through Sunday, the Stockyards transform into a winter wonderland, filled with fun activities for all ages. Pictures with Santa, Legends of Texas Gunfights, Mrs. Claus story time, cowboy poetry—you won’t want to miss out on taking it all in and celebrating the season, Fort Worth style!

The Clearfork Holiday Market

Where: Heart of the Ranch at Clearfork

What: Still have a few things on your holiday checklist? Come out to the Clearfork Holiday Market and shop from over 30 local vendors! In addition to the local wares, you can also enjoy appearances from Santa Claus and live reindeer, as well as photo stations and tasty seasonal food and drink.
